In 1998, a camcorder by Sony came in popularity as more than 700,000 camcorders were released and its price rise up to $700 at that time, so what was special in it??? 

Actually in 1998, Sony accidentally released a camcorder which can actually see through people clothes. This camera was discovered by Gerg Hunter and he created it as night vision camera, which can also record video in dark. But he didn't knows the adroitness of this camera. This camera can see through the dark clothes and this came is known when about 700,000 camcorders were sold.

Many naked pictures also got popularity on internet by this camera and also trending. But Sony takes many steps to handle the situations like launching new cameras and also legal action also take on Sony and public.

But the question arises that, How this camera can see through clothes???

Actually the rays we see normally are "Visible rays" and the rays which this camera can see were "Infrared Rays" which have very high difference. This camera was equipped with IR lens (Infrared Rays lens) due to which this camera can see in dark and through clothes.
