There is a conflict running between Azerbaijan and Armenia and along with these two countries some other countries are also connected like Turkey and Russia due to which this conflict become big. Many things are explained in Part 1. Basically this conflict is because of a small region Nagorno- Karabakh which both the countries want just like India and Pakistan for Kashmir.
To understand the motivations behind this conflict, it is necessary to understand the internal politics. Azerbaijan is republic country but in reality there is a dictatorship. When this country become independent then its president was Heydar Aliyev and after him his son Ilhan Aliyev become the next president in 2003 and he is the president of Azerbaijan till now. After 2003 he won all the elections with more than 80% of votes. This all proves that there is no opposition in the country and also there is no free media and there are more than 160 political prisoners in the Azerbaijan as who raise voice against Ilhan Aliyev he become prisoners. Recently Ilhan Aliyev also amended the age limit for the President as the age limit was 35 years but now it is changed to 18 years and many people said that, he did this so that his son become next president in 2025. So there is also a Monarchy and because of this the democracy index rank of Azerbaijan is 146/167 which is one of the worst in the world. On the other side Armenia is good in democracy comparing with Azerbaijan and the democracy index rank of Armenia is 86/167 but 2 years ago Armenia was much similar like Azerbaijan but because of Velvet revolution in 2018 all the condition changed. In this revolution more than 250K was gathered on roads and protest peacefully against the dictator with their opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan and this become one of the most successful protest and Nikol Pashinyan become the president of the Armenia.
From the last 20-30 years in both the countries a tremendous propaganda is spread by both the countries due to which new generation also started hate their neighbouring country. According to the opinion pole of 2012 91% of people of Azerbaijan thought that Armenia is the biggest enemy of the Azerbaijan and 63% of Armenian thought that Azerbaijan is the biggest enemy of Armenia. In both the countries media spread the propaganda against the country. Even in the school text books of Azerbaijan, Armenian are called as bandits, aggressors, treacherous and hypocritical and this create a hate in the children of Azerbaijan against the Armenians.
This is all because of the disputed region which is Nagorno- Karabakh and many also thought that if they collapse together then all everything become correct as both the countries use that disputed region but the hate in people can't be get over.
