Many people didn't know that Alaska was the part of Russia till 1867 but later Russia sell this part to America because Russia had lost the war and Russia feared the power of Britain, Turkey and France. And Russia thought that these countries will captured this land in free as Britain, Turkey and France can easily win the Alaska and Russia could not even save it.

At that time Petrol was also not very important and mining of Gold was also very hardly done because at that time people use horses to travel from one place to another and there was very less vehicle on the road due to which petrol was very less used and due to heavy snowfall in the Alaska there was also other difficulties.

Due to this Russia decides to sell Alaska to America because of which they will get some money. And On 30 march 1867 United States reached an agreement to purchase Alaska from Russia and they sell Alaska to America in the rate of 2 Cent per Acre which total costs $7.2 Million. 

But after exact 50 years America gain profit from this area as they earn 100 times profit than the original cost of the Alaska because Alaska was very rich in petrol, diesels, gold and other precious things.
